It’s All in the Details – Escort Cards

It’s All in the Details – by Lauren (Cooper) Ricciardelli

Call them escort cards, seating cards or place cards-they all direct your guests to your seats. But what you choose for these little details can set your wedding apart from the crowd.  Check out these fun ideas for your wedding!

1.  Vintage Keys – A personal favorite, the skeleton keys can be used in different ways.  Attach them to a flat card, or pin them to a board, it’s sure to give your wedding an elegant, vintage feel.

2.  Small plants – We’ve seen succulents double as favors and escort cards but what about tiny pots of lavender plants, herbs, or violets.  It’s a great way to incorporate your color theme and adds more floral to your day without breaking the bank.

3. Brooches – This is especially great if you have a brooch bouquet.  Attach flat escort cards to brooches or pins you find at antique stores or yard sales.  Great for a whimsical or retro wedding.

4. Natural Objects – Pumpkins, Apples, or preserved Leaves are all wonderful for fall escort cards.  If you’re feeling crafty you can collect whole leaves outside and coat them in Mod Podge or shellack before gluing on the cards.

5. Candy – Sweet treats are great to double as escort cards and favors.  You can use any treat that you and your fiance love, wrap them in personalized labels or pretty boxes and attach the guests name!  They’ll be able to enjoy the treats as they find their seats!
